2023 Dodge Hornet at Bodwell Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM

Are you familiar with the Dodge brand? Even those who may never have driven a Dodge are probably well-aware of just how powerful Dodge vehicles are. Dodge is the brand behind muscle cars like the Challenger, or the high-powered Charger sedan! Plus, there's also the Durango, a muscular SUV with an incredible 8,700-pound towing capacity. Now for the 2023 model year, Dodge is delivering something new for drivers to enjoy. This is the 2023 Dodge Hornet, which is a compact-utility vehicle offering two brand-new powertrain options that are both aimed at improving your fuel-efficiency! There are two trim levels in the 2023 Dodge Hornet lineup, and each one features sleek and stylish designs, with bold color options that the Dodge brand is known for. When it comes to tech, there's plenty to uncover in the Dodge Hornet. Available features like Semi-Automatic Parking, a 360° Surround View Camera, a Power Liftgate, a Best-in-Class available 13-Speaker+Subwoofer Harman Kardon® Sound System and plenty more, all combine to deliver the ultimate experience on the road.

The Hornet comes loaded with standard safety and security features across all trim levels, including Automatic Emergency BRaking, Lane Support Warning when straying from your lane, and Automatic Counter Steering.

What are the Dodge Hornet's New Engines?

Part of what makes the new Dodge Hornet such an exciting release is that it features two distinct engines in its lineup. For the two available trim levels, the Dodge Hornet offers two all-new engines for the Dodge brand. Although the two powertrains are different, they both share a common goal of helping the Hornet achieve optimal fuel-efficiency. The first engine comes standard with the R/T trim, which is the new plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a 1.3-liter four-cylinder paired with an electric motor, and a 15.5-kWh rechargeable battery. With this setup, the R/T can drive for up to 30 miles of all-electric range. Plus, it offers a new PowerShot feature that delivers a quick jolt of 25 horsepower, allowing the Hornet to accelerate to 60 miles per hour in 6.1 seconds! The other engine option is found on the GT, and that's the new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine known as the Hurricane. This engine is rated at 265 horsepower, and 295 lb-ft of torque.

What Features does the Dodge Hornet Have?

The Dodge Hornet has lots of features that you might expect from a Dodge, including a host of eye-popping color options, and an all-around sleek and sporty appearance. The main difference you'll see from other Dodge models is the fact that it has a different overall shape. The Hornet is a CUV, meaning it falls somewhere between a sedan and an SUV. This means it still has a robust shape, while feeling compact and agile. As we mentioned above, there are two trim levels for the 2023 model year. Both trim levels come with a sleek black interior, and red accent stitching that adds a bold pop of color. On the dashboard, you'll find a 10.25-inch digital cluster display complete with Performance Pages that offer advanced stats about your vehicle. Other available features include Alcantara suede upholstery, red seatbelts, and 20-inch wheels. There's also an available Blacktop package that offers black accents inside and out!

What are the Performance Features of the Dodge Hornet?

No Dodge vehicle is complete without a whole host of impressive performance features! We've already described the R/T's PowerShot feature, but that's only the beginning! If you're interested in finding features that elevate the performance of your Dodge, the Hornet has them! For example, you'll find racing-inspired features such as a flat-bottomed steering wheel, paddle shifters, and dual exhaust tips. There are also Brembo high-performance brakes complete with red calipers. When you opt for the R/T trim, you can choose your desired drive mode, so that you can utilize gas power, electric power, or both! In Hybrid Mode, the Hornet will draw from both the gas tank and the battery at once. In Electric Mode, you'll use just the battery for up to 30 miles of all-electric range. Lastly, eSave will let you save your battery for later by prioritizing the gas tank.
