The All-New 2020 Jeep Gladiator Revealed

Jeep-enthusiasts are going to love the recent news; as of the end of November 2018, Jeep has officially confirmed the debut of the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator!  This midsize pickup truck has been in the hearts and minds of Jeep fans since it left Jeep's production 26 years ago, and Jeep has finally answered your wishes to return this glorious off-roading and hauling champ to the roads.  Taking the best qualities of the all-terrain capability and freedom found in the Wrangler and combining it with best-in-class towing and 4x4 hauling weights, this is a truck designed for absolute fun and finding the best adventures around.  You've been asking for more and Jeep is very happy to deliver. Presenting the 2020 Jeep Gladiator!

Jeep has announced two powertrain options to be paired within the four trims of the Gladiator.  First is the tried-and-true 3.6-liter Pentastar six-cylinder featuring Engine Stop-Start as standard equipment.  This award-winning engine produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque--same as the modern Wrangler--is paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission.  If automatic is more your style, Jeep is offering an optional eight-speed as well! For better torque output and higher weight management abilities, the Gladiator also offers a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel six-cylinder engine that powers forward with 260 horsepower and an amazing 442 lb-ft of torque.  This engine is also equipped with standard ESS. For handling the increased torque outputs, this engine comes paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment. This will most likely be the better economy option, given the EcoDiesel is engineered for low-end and transient performance thanks to low-friction bearings and improved piston smoothness, combustion system, and fuel pressure sensing.

These engines paired with Jeep's legendary 4x4 performance systems make the Gladiator the most capable midsize truck ever!  It has all the off-roading chops you expect out two advanced Jeep 4x4 drive systems. First is the Command-Trac System standard on the Sport, Sport S, and Overland trims, featuring a two-speed transfer case with a 2.7:1 low-range gear ratio and third-generation heavy-duty Dana 44 axles.  The Rubicon comes with the exclusive Rock-Trac System, featuring Dana 44 axles with a "4LO" ratio of 4:1 and standard Tru-Lok differentials. These systems improve articulation and suspension travel, all the more enhanced with a segment-exclusive electronic sway-bar disconnect. The standard six-speed manual transmission lends the Gladiator a crawl ratio of 84:1 while the automatic eight-speed offers you a ratio of 77:1, both making for easy scaling of practically any trailway obstacle.  Also thanks to superior 4x4 performances and the big power churned out of the Gladiator's two engine options, it can tow up to 7,650 pounds and haul a payload of 1,600 pounds, both numbers best-in-class within the midsize truck segment.

The Wrangler's great style is carried over to the all-new Gladiator, and with it comes Jeep's signature Open-Air Freedom design to optionally strip down to frame.  This features a convenient fold-down windshield, light and easy-removable doors, and easy-to-use premium softtop or two hardtop designs. This, in essence, is the first true open-air truck ever!  Unmistakably Jeep, you'll be attracting plenty of admiring glances on the road thanks to signature seven keystone grille slots, round headlamps, square taillghts, heavy duty front bumper, and ruggedly distinguished trapezoidal wheel flares above 33-inch tires.  The grille is slightly wider than the Gladiator's inspiring Wrangler for better air intake to increase engine output and towing capability. The tailgate is wide and damped, capable of stopping in three positions. Cargo or payloads are secured via the power-locking tailgate and strong integrated tie-downs.

We personally can't wait to see this fantastic new Jeep design in action!  The 2020 Gladiator is slated to come to showrooms beginning in the second quarter of 2019.  We're keeping a close eye on Jeep's official announcement page for any additional details of this amazing build.  Feel free to call us up or email us below to ask us anything about the new Gladiator and their scheduled arrival into our inventory.
